Halfway through! Time Flies...

I just realized today that I'm exactly halfway in my internship. It was a disorienting realization, the days have gone quickly!
After my last post, I had completed processing 16 or so boxes, with approximately 107 to go. Everyone was given Friday, July 3rd off for a holiday, which was a very nice day and the beginning of a great weekend.
This last week I have been working steadily on a secondary project at the main campus, creating an inventory of internal records for exhibits and programs dating back to the early 20th century, some even before the Witte itself properly existed. While I did not read very many of these files while processing them, from the titles alone I was able to glean some interesting tidbits and trends in curating through the years. My favorite folder title was "Real Time Holographic Interferometry [Laser Exhibit]"
Through all of my various tasks I have been learning more about the many different functions which are part of the inner workings of a museum's archives and library. I am enjoying this opportunity to gain some real-world experience in some of the areas I've been sudying at school.
More later! I plan to write again soon. For now, here's me with a dinosaur at the Witte:
